A plinth looks like the simplest thing in the room and it is usually the piece that decides whether the display works. The height, the finish and the load capacity do more for the object on top than almost anything else.

Materials & Finishes
Specified for the job, not for the workshop
Timber and veneer
Hardwoods including oak, walnut, birch and ash, plus MDF and veneered board for painted and wrapped finishes. Mitred joints, solid edges and a finish that can be refreshed rather than replaced.
Acrylic and perspex
Ultra polished clear acrylic, frosted, mirrored and colour throughout. Flame polished edges, bonded corners and the weightless look nothing else achieves. Cast acrylic for anything machined or polished.
Metal
Stainless, mild steel, brass and aluminium, welded and finished in house. Slim sections carrying serious load, powder coated in any colour or left brushed, polished, blackened or aged.
Finishes
Matt through to high gloss, two pack lacquers, spray liquid metal, concrete effect, real wood veneer, mirror acrylic and tiled cladding. Colour matched to a brand reference or a supplied sample, with test panels approved before anything is sprayed for real.

The real load
Tell us what is going on top and how heavy it actually is. A bronze, a jewellery case and a handbag are three different problems. We engineer to the real weight and then add margin, and we will tell you if the shape you want cannot carry it.
How it is handled
A plinth that stands in a window for six weeks and one that is loaded and moved twice a night are different objects. If it has to nest, stack, come apart flat or travel repeatedly, that is designed in from the start rather than bolted on.
Where it goes
Shopping centres, hotels, museums and exhibition venues often specify a fire performance requirement. Fire rated materials and finishes are specified at design stage and certification supplied for the job. Ask early, because it is expensive to retrofit.

We build plinths for brands, retailers, hotels, caterers, agencies and venues, including Anya Hindmarch, GAIL's Bakery, Battersea Power Station, Smart Group and Moving Venue. Our reeded plinths have carried luxury hot fork buffets, heritage tomato towers and dessert stations at Somerset House and Ascot.
Multi site roll outs are normal. One plinth or forty, made with consistent finish across every unit, delivered by pallet to sites, stores or a logistics hub.

What sizes can you make?
There is no fixed limit. Tell us the dimensions and we will tell you how it is built, how it splits for transport and how it goes back together on site. Anything large is engineered to break down rather than to be refused.
How much weight will a plinth hold?
That depends entirely on the material, the section and the construction, which is why we ask for the real load rather than guessing. Tell us the weight and we engineer to it with margin on top. Reinforcement for heavy loads is routine.
Can you match a specific colour?
Yes. We colour match to a brand reference or a physical sample, and test panels are approved before anything is sprayed for real.
Can you supply fire rated plinths?
Yes. Where a venue specifies a fire performance requirement, fire rated materials and finishes are specified at design stage and certification is supplied for the job. See our compliance page.
Is there a minimum order?
No. We make single pieces and repeat runs. The per unit cost drops considerably across a run, so it is always worth telling us the real quantity even if you only think you need one.
How quickly can you quote?
Usually within one working day. Send the sizes, the material if you have a preference, the real load, your date and a budget range and we can come straight back with a fixed quote.
What is the lead time?
Typically 2 to 3 weeks from sign-off, depending on the nature of the job and how busy the workshop is at the time. Larger builds and roll outs are scheduled to your programme and confirmed in writing with the quote.
Do you deliver and install?
We deliver across the UK and worldwide, including pallet delivery. Where a build needs fitting rather than shipping, our own team installs on site to the venue's access and timing requirements.
